- At home I have a Compac presario 425. On my home computer, I installed a GVC
- voice, fax and data internal modem. A copy of SuperVoice 2.2 software was
- given with the modem. I installed the modem and the software. When I use them
- (the modem and the software) to log on other computer (as a terminal), send
- and receive faxes or answer to my phone calls, everything works fine.
-
- But,
-
- With this software, according to the documentation, it is possible to log on
- the computer from outside. When we call from outside with another computer,
- the software is supposed to recognize the type of call. If the call is a data
- call, a BBS function starts.
-
- I tried it from my office. This function didn't work. All my calls have been
- proccessed as vocal calls.
-
- I contacted the company. They made me change my voice.ini file and said to
- put a carrot character " ^ " before the phone number (accordingly to their
- documentation). In this way, my call should have been recognized as a data
- call.
-
- I applied all they suggested but the problem has not been solved. When I call
- from outside with a computer and a modem, my call is processed as a vocal call.
-
- Does anybody use this software.
-
- If not, I would appreciate any suggestion.
-
- Thank you.
